In just about every industry, customers are receiving incentives to purchase from a vendor. It’s not just about the product per se, with all its features and benefits. But it’s about all the “extra” stuff that you can get with it, that seriously sweeten the deal..

A few examples.

In the catering industry, you often find coupons to “buy one, get one free”, and is often used on what are typically “slow” nights, like a Tuesday.  The hospitality industry gives you options to upgrade your room to an Executive if you have spent “x” amount of nights with them already. You  may even get the  whole room for free!

In the automotive industry, perhaps the car will come with one year’s insurance as a bonus, so you can literally drive it right off the showroom floor! Get the idea? It happens everywhere, so it’s no surprise that even in the online marketing world (which is cut-throat competitive), such a  dynamic would find its way into how business is done.

But as Andrew Fox teaches in his Affiliate Millionaire programme (due out on the 23rd of February), a shocking number of people get this so wrong, it’s alarming. In fact, we’ve seen some affiliate promoting the new version 2.0 of a product, and the absolutely ridiculous thing was… they were offering  version 1.0 as a bonus! Hello? Excuse me?? We’re getting 2.0 because 1.0 is outdated and ineffective! Why are you making a big deal out of giving me an obsolete method, like it’s some awesome bonus?

We just don’t get it. We really don’t.

Thirdly, we see bonuses that are both unrelated, or add absolutely no value to the offer. What good is you sending me your “acclaimed report on  chihuaha breeding” when I’m buying a programme or E-book on how to erase my bad credit standing? Or how about that “innovative” approach of giving you an iPod if you’re in the first 10 people buying through my link?

Uhm, alright… thanks, but I already have one. Couldn’t I get a Bose Sound System instead?

It happens, folks. We see it. We don’t even laugh at it anymore, it’s that bad.

Fourthly, on the other end of the spectrum, we see bonuses where the sheer amount of stuff is enough to make you have to go out and buy  another hard drive. These are the affiliates who pile product upon product of Master / Private Resell right material they have acquired, and just do nothing but distract you from the core of the course. What happens is, it ends up collecting digital dust devils on your C: drive. Not good. At  all.

Lastly, here’s an interesting statistic for you: over 80% of the people who order a product through an affiliate link, based on the bonus being  offered… never USE the bonus material! How’s THAT, for speaking volumes about the quality and value of bonus offers in general?

When you create a bonus, it MUST have a value. It MUST complement the product you’re promoting. It MUST be relevant. It MUST be unique.  Otherwise, you’re just another one of the “Joe Affiliate” guys doing the same as everyone else… getting it wrong, and not making any money with it.

Want to make a lot of money with about 15 minutes of work?

Then write a quick email, and send it out with your affiliate offer to your list of 10,000+ subscribers.

What?? You don’t HAVE a list?
